Who We Are
Life after the death of a spouse can be very challenging. Those I have spoken to have difficulty finding help when they have no one else to turn to or to share those challenges with. Our communities lack programs/services for our widow/widower neighbors, even our government discriminates against those surviving spouses with no dependent children. They consider us as single and this needs to change. I am also working with my congressman's staff to create a National Day for Widows/Widowers but change takes time, and I will continue to work on this for as long as it takes.
What We Do
I am a nonprofit organization for surviving spouses. Our society does not recognize surviving spouses as a special group of people, and I am trying to change that. The community can also create/write memoriams on their deceased loved ones, even their pets. All I ask for is a donation of whatever you can afford for my programs. I have other programs as well, including a program created in memory of my husband which I donate to other nonprofits that my husband was passionate about. You can see a list of those that I have donated to on my website. Another program is Finley's Wish. This program was created in memory of my niece's puppy who died from a rare disease. Finley's Wish pays the adoption fees of homeless shelter pets who are seniors, have special needs, have been at the shelter for a long period of time or special circumstances such as a bonded pair. You can see a list of the shelters and the animals that Finley's Wish has helped so far. I have donation boxes at area businesses which are listed on my website under Fundraisers.
