Become a Volunteer Operator at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum!
If you’ve ever had an interest in operating a historic trolley this is a great opportunity for you. Even if you’ve never operated a real electric trolley car, we’ll show you how! Our training program teaches new volunteers how to operate our trolleys in a safe manner on a 4-mile scenic open track. Trolley Operators are needed Weekdays and Weekends at the Museum throughout the year. Scheduling is flexible.
Class will be held on Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 24 from 9:00 to approximately 4:00pm each day. Attendance is required on both days. Additionally, new operators will schedule an additional day of training at their convenience. Please bring a copy of your driver's license and a lunch.
Volunteer operators will also be required to be/become a member of the museum and provide their PA Clearances per PA State Law. For instructions on how to become a member and complete the required clearances, please check out our New Operator Training page on our website.

**All Trolley Operators must be 18 or older to operate for the public (those younger may still train), possess a valid Driver's License, be / become a member of the museum, and provide their PA Clearances per PA State Law. After the training course, passing of a written and practical operator exam is required**
