Who We Are
We are a dog rescue family that saw the benefits saving, training, and adopting dogs to local families had on a combat veterans anxiety and PTSD. We founded our non profit VetPets to help three veterans per year achieve the same level of results and health benefits from volunteering and helping other members of the community.
We have expanded our outreach from simple fundraising to helping acquire, train, and continually be apart of veteran recovery as it relates to our mission statement.
Our vision is to reduce veteran suicide through our work. Our objective is to always have a dog available when called upon to help a community member heal through the power of the human-animal bond.
We believe in the power of healing through hands on therapy dog and service dog training when it is paired with wellness and recovery activities.
What We Do
We raise money and help veterans adopt and train with dogs for emotional support, therapy dog and service dog training, and wellness activities to combat the invisible signs of war. Our Life-Changing Dogs for Veterans needs volunteers to help us train and care for dogs. We also need volunteers to take therapy puppies to veteran centers for staff and clients.
