Description

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with staffing the STTARS Program 24 hour hotline. This includes responding to phone calls from sexual abuse survivors or significant others and providing callers with support and resources. 
  • If interested and qualified, may provide hospital response for callers who request medical advocacy
  • Provides report of any calls received or advocacy provided to the volunteer coordinator within 24 hours of the event
  • Must notify volunteer coordinator of the following months availability for hotline calendar by the 20th of each month

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must complete the 40 hour SAC STTARS training
  • Must have required clearances on file with the agency
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must comply with all CARE Center policies and procedures
  • Must possess strong communication and listening skills
  • Must be assertive and comfortable working with diverse populations
  • Availability during evening/weekends as scheduled
